Wund Coffee Partnership with Coffee Industry Corporation's PNG Agriculture Commercialization & diversification Project (CIC-PACD)

In 2024, WCL entered into a strategic partnership with the Coffee Industry Corporation’s Agriculture Commercialization & Diversification Project (CIC-PACD), a World Bank-funded initiative aimed at improving productivity, quality, and income for smallholder coffee growers.

Through this partnership, Wuna Coffee Ltd received vital support to enhance its processing capacity and improve value chain efficiency. The project enabled the company to acquire modern equipment, strengthen farmer training, and develop transparent systems for parchment collection and marketing. As a result, thousands of rural farmers in Jimi District gained reliable farm materials / Equipment (nursery, rehabilitation) trainings (agronomy, farm management, marketing, etc,). Thus, thousands of previously unreached farmers gaining access to sustainable farming tools, materials and trainings.

The collaboration significantly advanced WCL’s development aspirations—to produce high-quality coffee, create rural empowerment and promote inclusive growth in the coffee sector. At the same time, CIC-PACD successfully achieving its development objective by empowering smallholder farmers, fostering private sector growth, and strengthening the sustainability of PNG’s coffee industry. The partnership stands as a model of how public–private collaboration can drive rural transformation and shared prosperity.
