Wuna Coffee Ltd (WCL) aims to transform coffee farming into a driver of rural empowerment and sustainable livelihoods in Papua New Guinea. Its ambitions include empowering smallholder farmers through providing continuous farm training to improve productivity and quality, fair market access, supporting education for farming families, promoting women’s participation, and advocating for better road and market infrastructure to connect remote producers to buyers. These goals align closely with Papua New Guinea’s Vision 2050 and the Medium-Term Development Plan IV, which prioritize inclusive economic growth, infrastructure development, and human capital investment. At the global level, WCL’s initiatives advance several United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
